Human Resources Generalist
18 Month Full-time Contract Position in Kapuskasing

Asa member of the Human Resources Team, you will require knowledge in the areas of recruitment and selection, employee and labour relations, benefits and pension administration, occupational health and safety, HRIS administration and disability and leaves management.   You will exercise sound professional judgment on human resource issues and advise and assist staff in interpreting human resource practices, policies, procedures and the collective agreement. You will also be required to problem-solve, recruit, interview, evaluate candidates, coordinate and oversee the orientation of new staff, manage personnel files and respond to staff requests as needed.

Job Requirements (Qualifications and Skills):
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma specializing in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Experience in human resources management; CHRP designation or active pursuit of designation with HRPA is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of WSIB, the Employment Standards Act, 2000 and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Experience working in a unionized setting is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential issues in a sensitive, efficient and professional manner.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and use of own vehicle is required.
